INDIA (British), silver award medal in glass bezel, 1868, Broach Exhibition, by Wyon, rare. Pudd-868 (but in silver). 114.93 grams total. 45 mm. Obverse: seated female figure facing left within legend BROACH EXHIBITION, with date 1868 and E.W. WYON DES. / J.S. & A.B. WYON F. in exergue; Reverse: wreath around central inscription "Awarded to BOMBAY EDUCATION SOCIETY PRESS" and star above. Very rare award medal as issued in silver and possibly unique as awarded to this organization, interesting bezel with glass face protecting the face of this Mint State medal, nicely toned with rainbow hues around the rims. Housed in original case with velvet stand, imprinted WYON / 287 REGENT STREET / LONDON on inside cover.
